Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Eagles suffered a 51-42 loss to Prairie View Academy on Thursday at the 2018 South AA Basketball Tournament at Glenbrook School.
Kameron Underwood missed a double-double by just one rebound after he tallied 26 points and nine rebounds to go with a blocked shot.
Dalton Crain posted 11 points and he blocked a shot.
Tucker Keating recorded three points, five boards, two assists and two steals.
Seth Schilling posted two points, four boards and an assist.
Gage Tervalon had two rebounds and a steal while Seth Burns tallied two boards and Tyler Winstead had an assist and a blocked shot.
“It was a tough one,” Ben’s Ford coach Landon Tims said. “We had two of our players that didn’t really get to play (Tyler Winstead and Jarvis Dawson). Tyler is our primary ball handler and Jarvis is a very important player on the inside, rebounding and scoring wise. However, everybody stepped up and we did play well despite those absences and we had a chance to win the game and advance, but it didn’t work out. We’ll work hard in the offseason and be ready to go next fall.”
Tims said Winstead tried to play through a stomach virus, but was unable to. Tims said Dawson did not play because of an injury.
The loss capped off Ben’s Ford’s season, as the top four teams advance to the Class AA Tournament. Ben’s Ford finishes the 2017-18 campaign with a 16-14.
The Eagles had four seniors including, Tervalon, Schilling, Burns and Underwood.
“I’m going to miss them,” Tims said. “They’re a great group of young men. They really keep you on your toes, but over the last three years I’ve been here, they’ve worked really hard. Everything we’ve accomplished this season has been primarily because of their hard work and dedication over the last three years.”
