Ben’s Ford topped by Prentiss Christian

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Lady Eagles fell to Prentiss Christian School, 50-45, in the opening round of the 2018 South AA Basketball Tournament at Glenbrook School on Tuesday.
Alaina McClelland led the team in points with 11. McClelland pulled down seven rebounds, dished out an assist and made five steals.
Kelci Freeman posted 10 points, seven boards, an assist and two steals.
Kayleigh Wheat recorded eight points, four rebounds and a steal.
Bailey Stewart recorded six points, five rebounds, an assist and four steals.
Celeste Crowe had six points, four boards an assist and she made two steals.
Valerie Paige tallied four points, five boards and an assist.
Abby Smith added a rebound, an assist and a steal.
This concludes the season for the Ben’s Ford. The Lady Eagles posted a 10-17 record.
This was the first time in several years the team has made it to South State.
The Lady Eagles had three seniors, including Wheat, AnnaBella Seal and Allison Forbes.
Ben’s Ford coach Mark McGehee praised the seniors.
“They were crucial players in the team’s success,” McGehee said. “I’m very proud of the work and contributions they made to the team. I love those seniors and I’m praying for the best for them in their future endeavors.”
