Varnado topped by Covenant Christian Academy

Varnado’s Wildcats were defeated by Covenant Christian Academy, 64-63, in a District 8-1A game on the road Tuesday.

Gary Crumedy and Jadarrell Magee scored 17 each to tie for the team lead in points. Magee hit three 3-pointers while Crumedy was successful on two attempts from beyond the arc.

Armontee Kemp posted 12 points that included one 3-pointer.

James Williams and Adrian Bickham recorded six each while Jeroderick Robinson had three and Kim McGowan added two for the Wildcats.

Franklinton defeats Lakeshore

The Lady Demons won their final game of the regular season Thursday, winning 67-31 at Lakeshore.

Franklinton ended the regular season with a record of 19-11 overall and 6-2 in district.

Danaria Magee led the Lady Demons with 19 points. Kaniya Dillon scored 16 points, Addison Carter added 11 points and Jalyn Bickham finished with 10 points.

Miriam Tate added nine points for Franklinton, and Amasiyah Fortenberry scored two.
