Lady Eagles capture District 4AA Tournament opener on Tuesday

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Lady Eagles opened the MAIS District 4AA Tournament with a 38-29 victory over Christian Collegiate Academy, 38-29, at Lamar Christian School on Tuesday.
Kayleigh Wheat led the Lady Eagles in points with 11 to go with a rebound and a steal.
Bailey Stewart posted six points, five rebounds and she made 10 steals.
Kelci Freeman tallied five points, seven boards, an assist and four steals.
Celeste Crowe recorded five points, a pair of rebounds, an assist and four steals.
Alaina McClelland had four points, five boards, two assists and three steals.
Valerie Paige had four points, seven boards and a steal.
Abby Smith put up two points, a rebound an assist and she tallied seven steals.
Allison Forbes added a point and two assists in the victory.
The fourth-seeded Lady Eagles played top-seeded Lamar Christian School following yesterday’s press time. The winner plays for the tournament title on Saturday at 6 p.m. against either second-seeded Centreville Academy or third-seeded Amite School Center.
Ben’s Ford’s boys team won the regular season District 4AA title and had a bye in the first round. They played Amite School Center yesterday. The winner of that game faces either second-seeded Lamar Christian School or No. 3 Centreville Academy for the tournament championship Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The losing teams play in the consolation games on Saturday. The girls consolation game starts at 3 p.m. with the boys at 4:30 p.m.
