Eagles capture regular season district title

Ben’s Ford Christian School captured the regular season District 4AA Title with a 61-46 victory over Centreville Academy at home Tuesday.
“We are the regular season champs, but now we go into our tournament as the number 1 seed,” Ben’s Ford coach Landon Tims said. “If we want to be considered district champions, we have to go out and win the tournament. Winning in the regular season is good, but if you want to be considered district champion, you have to go out and win the tournament. We look forward to the challenge. The school has never won a varsity district tournament.”
Kameron Underwood led the Eagles in scoring with 23 points. Underwood also pulled down eight rebounds and made two steals.
Tucker Keating posted 12 points, seven boards, an assist and two steals.
Tyler Winstead nearly had a double-double. Winstead scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds and he dished out two assists, made two steals and blocked a pair of shots.
Seth Burns had four points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals.
Jarvis Dawson posted four points, four boards and three steals.
Dalton Crain tallied three points.
Gage Tervalon had two points, a rebound and three steals.
Justin Moore recorded two points, three boards and a steal.
Seth Schilling added two points in the victory.
The Eagles enter the District 4AA Tournament with the No. 1 seed. Ben’s Ford plays the winner of No. 4 Amite School Center and fifth-seeded Christian Collegiate Academy on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Lamar Christian School.
