Trio of Buccaneers named to top all-district team

Three Bowling Green players were selected to the league’s top all-district team in 4AAA.
Athlete Cameron Bell, running back Larry Dillon and offensive lineman Gunner Peterson were named first-team players.
This season, Bell, who was the Buccaneers’ quarterback, completed 49 of his 96 passes (51 percent) for 587 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran 94 times for 679 yards (7.2 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns.
Dillon rushed for 504 yards on 68 attempts (7.4) and five touchdowns. He also caught 15 passes for 217 yards (14.4) and a touchdown.
The second-team players are linebacker Ben Bickham, center Sems Bird, running back Cameron Brock, offensive lineman Harrison Creel and outside linebacker C.J. Smith.
Bickham made 71 tackles and had two fumble recoveries this season.
Brock ran for 487 yards on 49 attempts (9.9) and three touchdowns to go with seven catches for 154 yards (22) and a score.
Smith made 66 stops and recovered a fumble.
The honorable mention all-district players were defensive lineman Jaden Smith and punter Charles Tanksley.
Smith recorded 49 tackles this season.
Bowling Green was winless in 10 games this season. The Buccaneers played a difficult schedule.
Nine of Bowling Green’s opponents reached the playoffs, one was a state runner up and two others reached the semifinals.
