Lady Eagles win 1-of-2 games in hoops tournament

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Lady Eagles split their two games in the 2017 Amite School Center New Year’s Shootout that took place last Thursday and Friday.
The Lady Eagles lost the first game of the event to Silliman Institute, 63-25.
Bailey Stewart topped Ben’s Ford in scoring with eight points. Stewart tallied three boards and three steals.
Kayleigh Wheat posted five points and a rebound.
Abby Smith tallied three points, three boards, an assist and a steal.
Kelci Freeman recorded two points and two rebounds.
Celeste Crowe and Lindsey McGehee put up two points and a rebound each.
Valerie Paige had two points.
Allison Forbes posted a point, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Alaina McClelland grabbed two rebounds and dished out an assist while AnnaBella Seal and Allie Jacobs had a rebound each.
The Lady Eagles came back strong from Thursday’s setback, with a 52-36 victory over Wilkinson County Christian Academy on Friday.
Freeman led the team with 13 points, and she also tallied a rebound, an assist and three steals.
Kayleigh Wheat posted 12 points, two rebounds, an assist and two steals.
McClelland had 11 points, five boards, an assist and four steals.
Stewart had a solid game with eight points, nine rebounds, seven steals and two assists.
McGehee had three points, six boards and she dished out an assist.
Abby Smith posted three points, three rebounds and two steals.
Crowe recorded four points, an assist and seven steals.
Forbes finished with five rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot while Seal added a rebound for the Lady Eagles in the victory.
Ben’s Ford’s next game will take place Friday on the road against Lamar Christian School.
