Franklinton defeats Bogalusa in rivalry

Franklinton’s Demons defeated Bogalusa, 61-30, in a contest held last Friday night at Bogalusa.
T.Y. Pope tallied a game-high 19 points. Pope hit a pair of 3-pointers for the Demons.
Raisean Hart posted 15 points and he also knocked down a pair of shots from beyond the arc.
Nine Franklinton players hit the scoring column.
Lorenzo Hart and Avant Monie posted six points each while Albert Browhow had five, Trequan Charles, Rakerian Conerly and Joshua Boughton put up three each and Lagarian Bell added one in the victory. Hart knocked down two 3-pointers while Charles and Boughton were successful on one 3-pointer each.
Chance Turner led Bogalusa with eight points, which included a 3-pointer.
DaJuan Powell posted six points while Quintay Henry and Dianté Lenoir had four each, Tyrese Rousell recorded three, Silas McGowan tallied two and Charles Taylor added one for Bogalusa. Rousell hit a 3-pointer.
The key period was the second. Franklinton led the game, 18-9, through the first quarter and outscored Bogalusa 19-2 in the second quarter to take a 37-11 lead at halftime.
Both teams are playing in tournaments today and tomorrow. The events began yesterday.
Franklinton is playing in the Gene Bennett Classic at St. Paul’s School. Bogalusa is competing in the Hannan Hustle at Archbishop Hannan.
Franklinton and Bogalusa began play in the tournaments after press time. Tip off for today’s game was determined by the results of yesterday’s contests.
