Bogalusa turned into a winter wonderland Friday morning, as a wintry mix including snow fell across Washington Parish. At dusk, First Presbyterian Church looked as pristine as a postcard.

Bogalusa Public Works Director James Hall confirmed that Bogalusa City Hall would be closed today, although he had stated Thursday that the city government office would be open. Hall said that the snowfall was higher than expected, and driving conditions were a concern for city employees’ safety.

Area schools were closed Friday as well.

The winter weather advisory in effect for Washington Parish was extended until 4 p.m. Friday. It was previously scheduled to end at noon.
