Franklinton High Tournament concludes

The Franklinton High School Basketball Tournament concluded its final two days of action with three games each day.
Friday’s trio of boys games began with Pine falling to Lakeshore, 64-30.
Eric Crosby led the Raiders with eight points and hit a pair of 3-pointers.
Larry Williams recorded seven points while Chance Woodward posted six points on a pair of 3-pointers.
Xavier Elzie had four while Rayshaun Bell posted three on a 3-pointer and Kaz Warren added two for the Raiders.
Lakeshore’s C.J. Ivy scored 19 points, which included three from beyond the arc.
Troy Henry posted 17 points.
Varnado defeated Mandeville, 61-56, in the next game.
Gary Crumedy was the Wildcats’ leading scorer with 21 points. Crumedy knocked down four 3-pointers.
Armontee Kemp posted 15 points, which included two 3-pointers.
James Williams, Ardarryl McGowan and Jadarrell Magee recorded six points each while Kim McGowan had three and Ja’Roderick Robinson added two in the victory. Williams drained a pair of 3-pointers and McGowan was successful on a 3-point attempt.
The final game Friday night saw Franklinton defeat Bogalusa, 62-44.
Raisean Hart led the Demons with 18 points and he knocked down five 3-pointers.
T.Y. Pope was next with 15 points.
Kian Conerly posted 12 points with two 3-pointers in the win.
Lagarian Bell recorded seven points.
Joshua Boughton posted three points on a 3-pointer, while Keandre Martin, Lavan Smith and Chris Reinsch all added two each.
Dajuan Powell topped the Lumberjacks with 12 points and he knocked down two 3-pointers.
Tyrese Roussell posted 11 points, which included a 3-pointer.
Demarcus Spikes and recorded four points while Dianté Lenoir and Demarcus Spikes had four each, Chance Turner recorded three and Sylas McGowan, Braedtrick Whittine, Raheem Roberts, Tony Harris and Jared Jackson all had two for Bogalusa.
The first boys game on Saturday had Lakeshore defeating Mandeville, 67-65.
Varnado topped Bogalusa, 67-64, in the next boys contest.
Magee led the Wildcats with 23 points and he nailed two 3-pointers.
McGowan put up 14 points, which included three 3-pointers.
Kemp posted 11 points and he hit a pair of 3-pointers.
Crumedy posted seven points while Williams tallied six, Robinson had four and Kim McGowan added two. Williams hit a 3-pointer for Varnado.
Spikes was the Lumberjacks’ leading scorer with 21 points, and he hit a pair of 3-pointers. Lenoir posted 12 points.
Turner posted nine points that included a 3-pointer, while Roussell had eight with a pair of threes, Harris posted five with a 3-pointer and Whittine and Roberts tallied four each. Harris knocked down a 3-pointer.
Franklinton won the final game, 56-29, over Pine.
Pope led a group of 12 Demons that hit the scoring column, with 17 points.
Boughton, Reinsch and Avant Monie posted six points each while Martin tallied five, Hart had four Trequan Charles and Conerly had three each and Smith, Bell and Lorenzo Hart all had two. Boughton hit two 3-pointers, while Conerly, Charles and Martin made one each.
Warren had eight points to top Pine. He hit a pair of 3-pointers.
Bell was successful twice from beyond the arc for his six points while Woodward recorded five, Williams posted four and Bryson Knight along with Koby Miller added three each. Knight and Miller hit a 3-pointer each.
The all-tournament team featured three parish players, including Franklinton’s Pope, Bogalusa’s Powell and Varnado’s Magee.
Lakeshore’s Ivy was the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and his teammate Henry, along with Mandeville’s Archie Henry, also made the all-tournament team.
