Final 2 days of Franklinton girls’ tournament featured 5 games

Franklinton’s girls basketball tournament concluded Friday and Saturday with five combined games that all featured local teams.
In Friday’s action, Pine defeated Varnado, 35-7.
Savannah Kennedy, McKayla Jordan and Jasmine Crosby all scored six points each to lead the Lady Raiders.
Elizabeth Barber tallied five while Kaylyn Ginn and Trayanna Williams posted three and Kelsey Jenkins, Raina Crosby and Kiyasha Clark all added two for the Lady Raiders.
The next game was a 62-32 win for Franklinton over Bogalusa.
Danaria Magee led the Lady Demons with 23 points.
India Dickerson posted 16.
Kaniya Dillon recorded 12 points and she hit all six of her free throws.
Jalyn Bickham tallied six points while Miram Tate had four and Addison Carter added two.
Chloe Foster scored a team-high 16 points for Bogalusa, which included a 3-pointer.
Quantasia Lewis recorded six points while Samyra White and Prayja Bickham posted four points each and Mary Ladner added two for the Lady Jacks.
Bogalusa opened Saturday’s play with a 57-21 loss to Slidell.
Bickham posted six points, grabbed two rebounds, made two steals and dished out an assist.
White scored five points, pulled down 10 rebounds and made a steal.
Lewis posted five points, three boards and a steal.
Foster had two points, three assists and a rebound
Shaunte Chatmon tallied two points and two rebounds.
Ladner scored a point and recorded an assist.
Deranique Lee added two boards.
Varnado and Slidell also played each other, but the score was not available by press time.
The final girls contest of the tournament was a 49-16 win for Franklinton over Pine.
Dillon scored 14 points to lead the Lady Demons. Magee posted 11.
Dickerson recorded eight while Bickham and Tate tallied six each and Carter had four in the victory.
Kennedy topped Pine with eight points.
Jenkins posted four points while Jordan, Ginn and Crosby all had two.
