Raiders defeated by Many in 2nd round of Class 2A playoffs

Pine’s Raiders suffered a 41-22 loss to Many in Friday’s Class 2A state playoff game on the road.
The Raiders fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter, but turned it around in the second quarter. Pine scored 16 unanswered points to go up 16-14.
Many scored once more in the half to take a 20-16 lead at the break.
Many’s touchdown that gave them a 20-16 lead at halftime started a run of 20 straight points and Pine was trailing 34-16. Each team added a touchdown late in the game, resulting in the 41-22 final.
Joey Seal completed seven of his 15 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran 10 times for 33 yards.
Markell Cotton caught five passes for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Jordan Anderson recorded two catches for 64 yards and a score.
Jakyran Handy ran eight times for 30 yards and a touchdown.
Pine finished the season with a 7-5 record.
The 13th-seeded Raiders had 13 seniors this year.
Pine coach Bradley Seal complimented his team on the way they played — especially his seniors.
“I was happy with the way we played. It’s tough to travel five hours against a team like that,” Seal said. “I’m proud of our seniors and what they have done for our program.”
Fourth-seeded Many (10-2) advanced to the quarterfinals and will face No. 12 Northeast. Northeast (8-3) defeated fifth-seeded Vidalia (9-3), 44-28.
