BPD arrests 6 adults, 2 juveniles

On Thursday, Nov. 16, just after 5 p.m., the Bogalusa Police Department received a complaint about people standing in the road smoking marijuana and holding guns on the corner of St. John Street and Caston Avenue, according to Maj. Percy Knight, public information officer for the BPD.

“When Patrol Officers Bryce Jarreau and Will Seals arrived, they observed six male subjects standing behind a vehicle with the trunk open,” he said.  “The vehicle owner gave officers consent to search his vehicle.

“In the trunk of the vehicle officers located a Colt .380 pistol with an obliterated serial number, a Diamondback AR-15 pistol, five individual packaged baggies consisting of suspected marijuana and eight Xanax bars.  Under the front passenger seat of the vehicle, officers located another pistol.

“Officers then got consent from the homeowner to search the residence, and inside the residence officers located a quarter pound of suspected marijuana, scales for packaging and selling narcotics, baggies for packaging narcotics for street sale, Liquid THC, other drug paraphernalia and marijuana gleanings scattered throughout the residence.”

Quave J. Marshall, 18, Anthony W. Robinson Jr., 20, Joseph Crutchfield, 19, Kevin T. Crutchfield, 44, and Ja’kyren D. Ladner, 18, all of Bogalusa, were placed under arrest and booked on the following charges: possession with intent to distribute marijuana; possession with intent to distribute schedule four narcotics; possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number; illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance; contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile; and illegal use of a controlled substance in the presence of a minor.

Neva A. Stephens, 35, also of Bogalusa, was placed under arrest and booked on the charges of: obstruction of justice; possession with intent to distribute marijuana; contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile; illegal use of a controlled substance in the presence of a minor; and possession with intent to distribute schedule one narcotics.

A 16-year-old male juvenile was additionally placed under arrest and booked on the following charges: possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice.

Also, a 15-year-old male juvenile was placed under arrest and booked on the following charges: possession with intent to distribute marijuana; possession with intent to distribute schedule four narcotics; possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number; illegal carrying of a weapon by a juvenile; and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
