LHSAA football playoffs kick off this week

The LHSAA football playoffs are here.
It is an exciting time for those involved with high school football and fans of the sport, as the playoff brackets have been released and teams are preparing for the opening round of postseason as they look to make a deep run.
All four teams from Washington Parish qualified for the playoffs and two teams, Pine and Varnado, are hosting opening-round games.
All games are Friday at 7 p.m.
In Class 1A, fourth-seeded Varnado is playing Ringgold. The Wildcats went 6-3 during the regular season. Ringgold is a 1-9 team. The victor will face off against the winner of No. 13 Arcadia (4-5) and 20th-seeded White Castle (2-8).
The Raiders enter the Class 2A playoffs as the 13th-seeded team, following a 6-4 regular season, by hosting No. 20 West St. Mary. West St. Mary went 4-6 during the regular season. The winner will play either fourth-seeded Many (8-2) or No. 29 Ville Platte (3-7).
Both Franklinton and Bogalusa open the postseason on the road.
The Demons come into the Class 4A playoffs as the No. 27 team and they are headed to sixth-seeded Leesville. Franklinton went 3-7 in the regular season. Leesville was 9-1. The winner will play either No. 11 Rayne (7-2) or 22nd-seeded Helen Cox (5-5).
In Class 3A, 23rd-seeded Bogalusa is on the road to face off against 10th-seeded Jennings. Bogalusa went 4-5 in the regular season, and Jennings was 7-2. The winner will face either seventh-seeded Church Point (8-1) or No. 26 Carroll (4-6).
