Bowling Green falls to Columbia Academy in final regular season game

Hosting the Columbia Academy Cougars in their final game of the season, the Bowling Green Buccaneers lost 46-12.
The Cougars, led by sophomore quarterback Ras Pace, pushed hard against the Buccaneers throughout the fist half of the game, scoring five touchdowns and four two-point conversions. The Cougars got on the board in the first three minutes into the game. They attempted the two-point conversion but the Buccaneers’ line held them back, setting the scored at 6-0 Cougars.
A minute later, the Buccaneers answered back with a hand off from quarterback Jace Schexnider to Larry Dillon at the 43-yard-line. Dillon advanced his way through the Cougars’ line and went 43 yards for the touchdown. The extra point attempt was blocked and the score was 6-6. The Cougars found their stride, and put the next four touchdowns on the board along with a successful conversion each time. The score at halftime was 38-6.
Coming back from the half, the Cougars took possession and pushed through on an eight-play drive downfield. A final hand off from Pace to Drew Havard at the 10-yard line got the Cougars their final touchdown of the game. Pace succeeded with the conversion on a quarterback keep and the score went to the 46-12.
Answering back with three minutes left in the third quarter, Schexnider handed off to Dillon at the Cougars’ 40. Dillon again broke through the Cougars’ defense and into the end zone for the final touchdown of the game. The extra point was attempted and blocked by the Cougars’ defense, which set the final score at 46-12 in favor of the Cougars.
Bowling Green finished the regular season with an 0-10 overall record and 0-2 record in district games. Columbia finished the regular season at 5-5 overall and 2-0 in district, and the Cougars were the District 4AAA champion.
