Bowling Green School suffered a 38-7 loss to Adams County Christian School in Friday’s road game.
“We played good in the first quarter,” Bowling Green coach David Currier said. “It was 7-0. We moved the ball some. We had two pick-sixes in the second quarter and that kind of took the wind out of us. One was an overthrow and one was a tip. We should’ve caught that one. We tipped it up in the air and they picked it off.
“They outmanned us. We knew that going in. Ended up being a short game. We had 164 rushing and 61 yards passing. We had 225 yards total offense. The big deal was two turnovers for touchdowns. We can’t do that.”
Bowling Green trailed 28-0 at halftime.
The Buccaneers scored on a 23-yard run by Cameron Brock. Joe Skladany was good on the extra point. Brock finished with 55 rushing yards on four carries.
Larry Dillon ran 10 times for 56 yards. Cameron Bell was 5-of-7 passing for 61 yards with two interceptions. He also ran for 23 yards on six carries. Currier said Bell did not play in the second half because of an injury, but expects Bell to be OK for Friday’s game.
Bowling Green is 0-8 this season. The Buccaneers will be back in action Friday with a road game against Simpson Academy.
