Eagles traveling to Wayne Academy tonight

Ben’s Ford Christian School will be on the road tonight as the Eagles head to Wayne Academy for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Ben’s Ford comes into this week with a 2-4 record. Last week, the Eagles suffered a 37-20 loss to Benton Academy in the District 3AA opener. This week’s game is a non-district contest.
Last week, Tyler Winstead accounted for a pair of touchdowns and a two-point conversion.
Winstead threw a pass to Justin Moore for a 72-yard score and he scored on a 10-yard run. Winstead also threw to Kameron Underwood for a two-point conversion. Jacob Seal posted a touchdown on a 28-yard run.
Wayne Academy won last year’s game, 35-12.
Wayne comes into this week with a 3-3 record. The team lost to Oak Hill Academy, 20-8, last week.
“We’ve got to get back on track,” Wayne Academy coach Cole Holden said. “We’ve played some sloppy games the last few weeks.”
Holden is a former Ben’s Ford coach. He was there for three seasons, including two as a head coach. He was also the offensive coordinator the year before he became took the reins.
Wayne runs a balanced offense with Jacob Castle and Colton Coxwell at quarterback.
Kaleb Brewer is the running back, with Cole Harris, Hunter Sanderson and Payne West at wide receivers.
Wayne’s top defenders include middle linebacker Sanderson and cornerback Michael Watson.
