Bowling Green School suffered a 42-20 loss to Centreville Academy in Friday’s road game.
“It was a little better in spots, but we’re still giving up the big plays, so we can’t do that,” Bowling Green coach David Currier said. “We’ll stop them a few plays, then give up the big play. We did move the ball, but not consistently. We had a touchdown called back. We’re just not physical enough. Mistakes and lack of execution are hurting us.”
Bowling Green trailed 28-6 at halftime.
C.J. Smith scored a first-quarter touchdown on a 20-yard run. Cameron Brock tallied in the third quarter on a 66-yard run with Cameron Bell scoring the two-point conversion. Jace Schexnider scored from the 3 in the fourth period.
Brock finished with 106 rushing yards on seven carries. Bell recorded 77 rushing yards on 14 attempts. Larry Dillon ran eight times for 74 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards.
Bowling Green is 0-6 this season and will be back in action Friday when the Buccaneers host Central Private School and celebrate homecoming night. Central Private defeated Amite School Center, 23-14, last Friday.
Centreville improved to 4-2.
