Ben’s Ford Christian School suffered a 48-19 loss to Brookhaven Academy in Friday’s game that took place on the road.
The contest was close in the first half. Jordan Provost intercepted a touchdown that tied the game at 13-13.
Ben’s Ford was down by a touchdown at halftime, 26-19.
Ben’s Ford coach Dean King said the running game struggled, but said the passing game was solid. He said he was pleased with the way his team played.
“It was a good ball game in the first half,” King said. “We were tied midway through the first or second quarter (13-13). We were down 26-19 at halftime. We had a chance to make it 26-20, but we had an extra point blocked. We moved the ball very well in the first half.
“Brookhaven throws it well and they love to spread it out. Jordan Provost had two interceptions in the first half. One he took to the house that allowed us to tie the game up, and he had another one late in the second quarter.”
Gage Tervalon scored a touchdown on a 3-yard run and Jacob Seal tallied from the 5.
Ben’s Ford is 2-3 and will open District 3AA play by hosting Benton on Friday, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. Brookhaven improved to 4-1 for the season.
