Trio of Lady Bucs pitchers combine to blank Columbia Academy

Bowling Green’s Hannah Creel, Madelyn Burch and Cailee Fruge combined on a two-hit shutout and Anna Beninato had a big game at the plate in an 8-0 victory over Columbia Academy on the road Tuesday.
Creel pitched two innings, allowing two hits with six strikeouts and a walk. Burch tossed two hitless innings with four strikeouts and no walks. Fruge pitched an inning and allowed no hits, while striking out three and walking one.
Beninato led the offense in hits, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Breanna Tobey and Burch recorded two hits each. Tobey tallied two runs.
Cass Spears, Fruge and Kylee Burris posted a hit each.
Spears drove in three runs. Fruge scored a run and Burris posted an RBI. Landry Dupont scored two runs and Creel had an RBI.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action Monday when they host Central Private School.
