Franklinton competed in a three-team scrimmage Thursday at Live Oak and the Demons went 1-1, as the schools played a 10-minute quarter each game.
“The team fought extremely hard tonight,” Franklinton coach Stephen Burris said. “Got off to a sluggish start with the heat and wait but played much better after we got going. I saw a lot of good things tonight and proud of the way we handled a little adversity.”
Burris said the offensive and defensive lines played well in both games.
Franklinton lost 3-0 to Slidell, but rebounded in the second with a 14-7 victory over Live Oak.
Jasper LaSalle had a hand in both touchdowns. He threw a scoring pass to Rakerian Conerly, and also had a rushing touchdown. Raif Branch kicked both extra points.
Franklinton is back in action Friday night when the Demons face Pine in the second game of The Our Lady of Angels Washington Parish Jamboree. The competition kicks off with Bogalusa and Varnado at 6:30 p.m.
The regular season opener takes place Friday, Sept. 1 on the road against Covington.
