Bowling Green School suffered a 2-0 loss to Silliman Institute in a road game that took place Monday.
The Lady Buccaneers finished with five hits — one each by five different players.
Breanna Tobey, Landry Dupont, Hannah Creel, Cailee Fruge and Cass Spears each had a hit.
Silliman, the two-time defending Class AAA state champion, scored the game’s only runs in the first inning.
Creel was the tough-luck losing pitcher. She pitched a complete game, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and no walks.
Bowling Green committed one error in the game.
