Quartet of Lady Raiders softball players make 1st-team all-district

Four Pine Lady Raiders were selected first-team all-district players in District 10-2A this season.
Infielder Haley Stephens, outfielder Karley Voth and utility players Cassidy Ashe and Caitlyn Polk were named to the top team.
The Lady Raiders had five second-team players, which included infielders Morgan Grace, Savannah Kennedy and Sydney Thomas, along with utility players Erin Kennedy and Cassidy Perry.
This season, Pine reached the playoffs as the 29th-seeded team, but lost to the eventual state champion in fourth-seeded Mangham. Mangham defeated sixth-seeded Sterlington, 3-1, in the state championship game.
Archbishop Hannan outfielder Sydney Williams is the district’s Most Valuable Player and her coach Becky Lambert is the league’s Coach of the Year.
Hannan made the Division III playoffs as the fifth-seeded team and advanced to the quarterfinals before coming up short to fourth-seeded St. Charles Catholic, 5-4. St. Charles Cathlolic lost in the semifinals, 11-1, to top-seeded and eventual state champion Calvary Baptist.
The first-team pitchers are Pope John Paul II’s Leanne Lain along with Archbishop Hannan teammates Alex Clesi and Allie Hutton.
The catchers are Pope John Paul II’s Chloe Cooper and Hannan’s Gentry Spinks.
The rest of the infield features Northlake Christian School’s Alexis Roy, Pope John Paul II’s Shelby Neyland and Archbishop Hannan teammates Lindsey Osbon, Lauren Wegener and Caylee Palazzola.
Besides Voth and Williams, the only other outfielder is Archbishop Hannan’s Kaitlyn Allen.
The rest of the utility players are Northlake Christian School’s KeraGrace Watts, Pope John Paul II’s Alyssa Randolph and Archbishop Hannan’s Alexis Dale.
Pope John Paul II reached the Division III playoffs as the 14th-seeded team, but lost in the opening round to third-seeded Holy Savior Menard, 10-0. Menard made the regionals, but suffered a 3-1 setback to sixth-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas.
Switching to the second team, the catchers are Archbishop Hannan’s Lauren Distefano and Northlake Christian School’s Clea Davis.
The remaining infielders are Pope John Paul II’s Olivia Johnson and Avery Natal.
The outfielders are Pope John Paul II’s Chloe Molero, Northlake Christian School teammates Ally Reynolds and Corrin Hebert and Archbishop Hannan’s Kennedy Martin.
The only non-local utility player is Northlake Christian School’s Adrianna Williams.
