BHS has 3 named 1st-team all-district

Three Bogalusa baseball players have been selected as District 7-3A first-team all-district players.
Pitcher Jay Baham, first baseman Joemon Roberts and outfielder Tyrese Rousell were named to the league’s first team.
In district this year, Baham posted a 1.93 ERA with 21 strikeouts and 15 walks. At the plate, he hit .380 and reached base at a .620 on base clip and he drove in two runs.
Rousell posted a .370 average with a .540 on-base percentage and he had four RBIs.
Roberts recorded a .304 batting average, .450 on-base percentage and he drove in a run during the district season.
Bogalusa’s second-team players are third baseman Chas Smith, outfielder Cam Bickham and second baseman Marlon Myles.
The Lumberjacks all-district honorable-mention players include shortstop Thomas Turner and outfielder Latodrain Dillon.
The rest of the first-team pitchers are Jewel Sumner pitchers Brady Johnson and Javunte Anderson, Albany teammates Micah Cleveland and Brock Bennett and Amite’s Daniel Addison. The rest of the infielders are Amite catcher Cameron Henderson, Albany second baseman Slade Banskson, Jewel Sumner shortstop Landon McDaniel and Amite third baseman Colby Sonnier.
The rest of the outfield includes Albany teammates Tyler Allbritton and Brett Davis, Jewel Sumner’s Blake Murphy and Amite’s Roger Brown. The utility players are Albany’s Brock Legoria and Independence’s Jadarius Jackson.
Jewel Sumner reached the Class 3A state playoffs as the No. 28 seed, but lost to fifth-seeded Iowa, 21-1, in the opening round of the playoffs.
Albany made the postseason as the 30th-seeded team, but suffered a 16-2 setback to third-seeded Berwick in the bi-district round of the Class 3A state playoffs.
Four Jewel Sumner players made the second team including, outfielders Alex Martin and Nic Linn, catcher Jake Fontenot and second baseman Skylar Tabor.
The Albany players are catcher Joey Smith, shortstop Reid Rayborn and outfielder Kyle Newman.
Amite had one second-team player in utility Dajarvious Dowing.
Independence’s players are pitcher Lane Hardy, utility Jermaine Singleton and outfielder Mikey Hampton.
Independence’s honorable-mention all-district players include catcher Jacob Lamy and first baseman Cayden Cyprian.
Jewel Sumner had three all-district honorable-mention players including, pitcher Derrek Womack, first baseman Tristin King and third baseman Jake Fowler
