Milltown Classic takes place tomorrow

On your marks, get set, go.
The Milltown Classic 5K run/walk is Saturday.
The 21st annual event helps benefit the Rotary Club.
“It’s our 21st time,” Brad Lewis said. “The Rotary Club uses this to raise money. The money is used for service projects and for scholarships for local students.”
Paul Dauterive, a 2011 Covington High graduate, has won the last four Milltown Classics. Dauterive said he will be competing this year. Dauterive has local ties to Bogalusa. His great-grandmother Helen Applewhite and grandfather Greg Applewhite are Bogalusa residents. Dauterive graduated from Louisiana Tech last year.
The race’s start time is 8 a.m. and check in takes place before the event that is at Cassidy Park.
Registration for the race costs $20 for adults and children 12-and-under cost $10. Each participant receives a T-shirt.
Trophies will be awarded for each 10-year age group.
