Ben’s Ford Christian School held a Blue and Gold Game that took place Thursday, with the Blue Team winning a 28-26 contest.
The Eagles were split up for the intrasquad scrimmage and competed against each other. There were 10 series and each started at the 50.
“We looked good. We executed. They looked kind of nervous, but we looked good overall,” Destin Pittman said. “After the third-or-fourth series, we picked it up. We had a good spring overall.”
Pittman, who plays tight end for Mississippi College, is helping the team while he is out of school.
Tyler Winstead threw a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion. Winstead’s touchdown pass was a 40-yarder to Kameron Underwood. His two-point pass was to Justin Stewart.
Jacob Seal and Gage Tervalon ran for a pair of touchdowns each and Austin Moore tallied on two two-point conversions.
Pittman said Justin Moore had a couple of big plays.
He also said the offensive line looked good at times and shaky at others, but Pittman said the spring game allows the team to work on execution.
Pittman praised Cameron Bullen. He said Bullen is the team’s new center and he had a real solid performance. Bullen played center for both sides.
Defensively, free safety Isaac Waskom had an interception he returned for about 15 yards.
Defensive end Tyrik Bickham had a sack and made a couple of tackles for loss.
Cornerback Justin Stewart intercepted a pass.
Pittman said defensive end Adam Smith had a couple of big plays.
Pittman added that linebackers Jacob Seal, Preston Lee and Peyton Miller all looked solid.
