Varnado’s Quierra Bickham advanced to the Class 1A state meet after winning the long jump Thursday at the Region 3-1A Meet that took place at Woodlawn High School.

Asia Magee took sixth in the discus with a throw of 62 feet, 6 inches. Ascension Catholic’s Kenshell Davis won at 95-0.
Jalisia Jackson was seventh in two events, the 400 meters and the 300 hurdles. Jackson ran the 400 in 1 minute, 17 seconds and the 300-hurdles at 1:05. St. Martin’s Alexandra Bartholomew won the 400 in 1:03 and Ascension Catholic’s Stephanie Breaux was victorious in the 300 hurdles at 50.87.
