COVINGTON — A pair of Pine Lady Raiders missed qualifying for the regionals by one spot at the District 10-2A meet that took place Wednesday, April 19, at Christ Episcopal.
Ateria Williams and Lacey Fletcher both had fifth-place finishes at the meet.
Williams ran the 100 meters in 14.51 seconds, and only missed advancing by .13 seconds. Northlake Christian School’s Kyren Whittington won the event 13.13.
Fletcher competed in the long jump and had a distance of 13 feet, 6 inches. The fourth place distance was 14-8.5. Archbishop Hannan’s Miranda Kramer won at 16-11.5.
The top four finishers from each event advanced to regionals, which take place today at Southeastern Louisiana University.
Archbishop Hannan won the competition with 123 points, as four teams posted at least one point. Pope John Paul II was second with 89, followed by Northlake Christian’s 17 and Pine’s two.
