Pair of Lady Bucs going to South State

Bowling Green’s Landry Dupont and Shelby McDonald advanced to the South State meet in Thursday’s District 5AAA meet that took place at Silliman Institute.
Dupont ran second in the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 52.13 seconds. Centreville Academy’s Sydnie Lyons won in 51.68. McDonald was fifth in 58.89.
McDonald moved on in the 100 hurdles with a fourth-place finish at 20.48. Lyons was the winner in 17.81.
Thursday’s meet was a qualifying meet. The top four finishers from each event advanced to the South State Meet. The field events will take place today, while the running is Saturday. Both days are being held at Silliman.
Also coming in the top six for Bowling Green, Grace Mizell was fifth in the 100 with a time of 14.51. Silliman’s Cayley Pelt was the winner in 13.47.
Silliman won the team competition with 131 points, as four schools had at least one point.
Centreville Academy was second with 79 points, followed by Central Private’s 34 and Bowling Green’s eight.
