Franklinton golf advances to regionals

Franklinton’s Demons qualified for regionals at Wednesday’s Division II District 3 golf competition that took place Farm d’Allie Golf Course in Carencro.
The top four teams advanced, along with the top four golfers who were not part of an advancing team.
The Demons came in fourth place with a 408. The top four golfers’ scores from each team were used to determine team scores.
Dillen Reeves shot an 84 for Franklinton and finished in the top 10. He tied for seventh with Lakeshore’s Nick Pizzuto and St. Michael the Archangel’s Walter Dupeire in the field of 39.
Also for Franklinton, Brett Bryant tallied a 93, Cameron Jones had a 108, Jacob Smith posted a 123 and Andrew Schilling recorded a 128.
Teurlings Catholic won the event with a 303.
Loranger’s Kristofer Kerr won the individual competition with a 71.
The Division II Region 2 Tournament takes place Tuesday at Atchafalaya Golf Course in Patterson.
There is no district meet for the girls. They play in the regionals Monday at Beaver Creek.
