Mt. Hermon’s softball team fell to Negreet, 11-0, in the bi-district round of the Class B state playoffs in five innings on the road Monday.
Mt. Hermon coach Jeff Thomas said the Yellow Jackets hit the ball well, but right to Negreet’s defense. The team finished with three hits.
Negreet scored four runs in the first. It stayed that way until the fourth when Negreet added seven more to make it 11-0. That inning also featured a rain delay that was about 30 minutes.
No. 20 Mt. Hermon finished with a 10-7 record this season.
“We had a very good year. The girls played good ball this year. We had a four-game winning streak coming into the game,” Thomas said.
The Lady Jackets had no seniors.
No. 13 Negreet, which is 13-13, advances to the regional round to play against fourth-seeded Anacoco, which had a bye in the opening round.
