Several local softball teams reach playoffs

The softball playoffs are here and three schools from Washington Parish are in the postseason.
Franklinton, Pine and Mt. Hermon begin their playoff runs with first-round games, and the teams will play Monday or Tuesday.
In Class 4A, Franklinton (10-13) is the 25th-seeded team. The Lady Demons are on the road traveling to face eighth-seeded Beau Chene (20-7) with the game set for Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The winner faces either ninth-seeded Lakeshore (17-10) or No. 24 Minden (13-15).
Pine (8-15) is in the Class 2A playoffs at No. 29. The Lady Raiders are on the road to play fourth-seeded Mangham (21-11) on Monday, April 17 at 5 p.m. The victor will go against the winner of No. 13 Delcambre (12-14) or 20th-seeded North Caddo (7-11).
In Class B, Mt. Hermon (10-6), the 20th seed, is taking to the road and playing No. 13 Negreet (12-13) on Monday, April 17 at 3 p.m. The winner plays fourth-seeded Anacoco (16-5). Anacoco has a bye in the first round.
Mt. Hermon and Negreet met in the opening round last year and Negreet won, 12-1.
