Pine solid on the links in Monday’s league play

Pine’s Tanner McKenzie and Brent Barber tied for runner-up and Pine’s Allison Stuart won in the girls golf competition that took place Monday at Franklinton Country Club in the Northshore Golf League.
McKenzie and Barber both finished with a 79 in the event.
Pope John Paul II’s Zack Barrios won the competition with a 72 in the field of 18.
Pope John Paul II’s Jack Legnon was fourth with an 85 and St. Thomas Aquinas’ Tim Tran rounded out the top five with an 89.
Pope John Paul II won the team competition with a 359.
Two schools qualified for team honors, as the top four golfers from each squad were used for team scores.
Doyle was second with a 451.
In the girls competition, Stuart won with a 113, with three people competing.
Springfield teammates Lanie Chandler and Shelby Chandler were second and third, respectively, with a 122 and 124.
