Franklinton struggles in final 2 regular season games

Franklinton’s softball team suffered losses to Albany and St. Mary’s Dominican to close out the regular season Monday and Wednesday.
On Monday, the loss was 15-4 in five innings at home.
Alaina Fussell posted two of the Lady Demons’ six hits.
Madison LaSalle, Bailey Spears, Morgan Stafford and Ashlyn Ard had a hit each. LaSalle and Spears each scored a run. Stafford doubled, posted an RBI and scored two runs. Ard doubled and had two RBIs.
Stephanie Crowe drove in a run for the Lady Demons.
Albany led 13-0 after the top of the fourth before Franklinton scored a run in the fourth. Albany tallied twice in the fifth to make it 15-1. The Lady Demons put up three in their half of the fifth, but were unable to avoid the mercy rule in the setback.
Wednesday’s game was 11-0 in five innings.
Franklinton was limited to three hits — one each by Spears, Ard and Bethany Sandifer. Ard doubled for the Lady Demons.
Dominican scored in every inning, including five runs in the third.
Six errors led to six unearned runs.
