Lady Jackets’ Hughes is a 1st-team all-district player in 7-B league

A Mt. Hermon player was selected a first-team all-district player in the 7-B league for the 2016-17 season.
Kaley Hughes made the top team in the district.
Teammate Sikoya Jackson was selected to the league’s second team.
The Lady Jackets had one all-district honorable mention player in Toni McDonald.
This season, Mt. Hermon made the playoffs as the 24th-seeded team, but lost to regional round team No. 9 Lacassine, 67-32. Lacassine lost in the next round to eighth-seeded Hathaway, 69-64.
Holden’s Kaylee Hughes is the league’s Most Valuable Player. She is joined on the first team by teammates K.K. Kropog and Montori Weber.
Holden, the No. 4 seed in the Class B playoffs, reached the semifinals before falling to top-seeded and eventual state champion Florien, 62-58.
Martin Luther King Charter’s Dayln Belvin is a first-team player.
Martin Luther King Charter made the postseason as the 27th-seeded team, but lost 90-50 to sixth-seeded Negreet, which made the regionals before falling to No. 11 Zwolle, 62-54 in overtime.
The rest of the second team players are Martin Luther King Charter’s Jasmin Theodore, Crescent City’s Heaven Giusti and Holden teammates Amanda Fekete and Jaycee Hughes.
Besides McDonald, the all-district honorable mention players include, Martin Luther King Charter teammates Simon McDonald, Deynishe Longmire and Milan Turner, Holden teammates Victoria Richardson and Brooke Thompson and Crescent City’s Brittany Stevens.
