Varnado erases 5-run deficit late to win
Varnado’s Wildcats trailed 10-5 going into the bottom of the seventh in a District 8-1A game on Friday, March 24, against St. Martin’s Episcopal at Franklinton, but the Wildcats came back and scored six runs to win, 11-10.
Jaylan Jefferson went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Six other players had one hit each, including Errol Varnado, Trace Lozier, Xavier Moses, Ja’Roderick Robinson, Ja’Kyle Newkirk and ClaDarrium Robertson.  Varnado scored two runs and drove in two. Lozier had two RBIs. Moses posted two RBIs and a run scored. Robinson doubled and scored a run. Newkirk doubled and tallied two runs. Robertson drove in a pair of runs.
Travon Stokes scored two runs while Jaccourious Bickham and Peter Zantonio scored a run each.

Bowling Green loses a doubleheader to Centreville
Bowling Green School suffered a pair of losses Centreville Academy in District 5AAA play Friday, March 24, at home, 14-0 and 14-3.
The 14-0 game went five innings and the Buccaneers were limited to one hit, which was by Brandon McElveen.
The 14-3 game went the full seven innings, as Centreville scored seven runs over the last two frames with a run in the sixth and six in the seventh.
Bowling Green posted six hits in the game. Nick Wager and James Taylor each had two hits, including a double. Wager drove in two runs.
Cameron Cowart and Cameron Bell each had one hit. Cowart scored two runs. Bell doubled and scored one run. McElveen had an RBI.

Bogalusa wins close game over Jewel Sumner
Bogalusa’s Lumberjacks were 4-3 winners over Jewel Sumner in a District 7-3A home game on Thursday, March 23.
Jay Baham pitched a complete game for the win. Offensively, he had a hit.
Kid Mingo, Kameron Bickham and Tyrese Rousell all posted finished with one hit. Bickham doubled and Rousell tripled. Marlon Myles and Chas Smith drove in a run each.

Bogalusa falls to Jewel Sumner
Bogalusa lost its District 7-3A opener Tuesday, March 21, to Jewel Sumner on the road, 8-2.
Tyrese Rousell went 2-for-3.
Jay Baham, Kid Mingo and Chas Smith all had a hit for the Lumberjacks.
