Pine’s Barber finishes 2nd in Northshore Golf League

Pine’s Brent Barber finished second in the Northshore Golf League that took place Monday at Oak Knoll Country Club in Hammond.
Barber carded a 42 for the nine-hole event that featured 19 golfers.
Pope John Paul II’s Zack Barrios won the event with a 36.
Teammate Jack Legnon and St. Thomas Aquinas’ Tim Tran tied for fourth, as each posted a 43.
Pine’s Tanner McKenzie rounded out the top five with a 45.
Also locally, Jonathan Fornea tied Doyle’s Jordan Levy for 15th with a 65. Teammate David Walber was 19th at 71.
In the team competition, Pope John Paul II won with a 182 and Doyle was second with a 249.
Two teams qualified for team honors. The top four golfers’ scores from each team were used in determining team scores.
