Franklinton’s Lady Demons suffered a 9-6 loss to Pearl River in a District 8-4A game that took place at home Tuesday.
Morgan Stafford had a solid day at the plate. She doubled, drove in a run and scored in a run, which was all part of a three-hit game.
Madison LaSalle, Ashlyn Ard and Shamya Hart had a hit each.
LaSalle and Hart scored a run each and Ard drove in a run. Ard and Hart both doubled.
Caroline Branch, Bethany Sandifer and Sydney Wills all had one run scored for the Lady Demons.
Two Franklinton errors led to four unearned runs.
Franklinton got on the board first by tallying twice in the third to take a 2-0 lead, but Pearl River had a huge inning in the fifth, posting eight runs. The Lady Rebels added one more in the sixth and were up 9-2.
Franklinton rebounded with four in its half of the sixth, but could not get any closer in the three-run loss.
