Pine’s Brown named 1st-team all-district player

Pine’s Breyanna Brown was selected a first-team all-district player for the 10-2A league this season.
During district, Brown averaged 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Two Lady Raiders made the second team, including Bethany McGinnis and Savannah Kennedy.
McGinnis put up eight points, five assists and three rebounds in district play while Kennedy had eight points and eight boards per game.
Two Pine players are all-district honorable-mention players — Hannah Ard and Kaylyn Ginn.
Ard averaged four points and six rebounds in district while Ginn posted four points, three assists and three steals.
This year, Pine reached the playoffs as the No. 21 seed, but lost in the first round to 12th-seeded Ferriday, 52-26. Ferriday reached the regional round, but lost to fifth-seeded Red River, 81-45.
Northlake Christian School’s Kyren Whittington is the league’s Most Valuable Player.
Northlake Christian’s Natalie Newberry is a first-team player while teammate Kaitlyn Walker is on the second team and KeraGrace Watts and Ally Reynolds are all-district honorable mention players.
This season, Northlake Christian School captured the Division III state title after defeating St. Thomas Aquinas, 52-46, in the state title game. Northlake Christian was the top-seeded team while St. Thomas Aquinas was No. 3.
Hannan’s first-team players are Kennedy Martin, Mallory Kramer and Miranda Kramer. Julia Fecke is on the second team and Sydney Bagler is an all-district honorable mention.
Hannan, the eighth-seeded team, reached the quarterfinals of the postseason, but lost to Northlake Christian, 51-48, in overtime.
Pope John Paul II’s Jessica Ferraci and Camile Dedeaux are second-team players while Savannah Beudette is an all-district honorable mention player.
PJP made the Division III playoffs as the No. 17 seed, but was defeated by 16th-seeded Metairie Park Country Day, 43-34. Country Day lost in the next round to NCS, 55-38.
