Franklinton’s Magee named to 1st team

Franklinton’s Danaria Magee was selected a first-team all-district player for the 8-4A league after having a solid season.
This year, Magee averaged 12.6 points per game in league play for the Lady Demons.
Two more Franklinton players, India Dickerson and Kaniya Dillon, were named honorable-mention all-district players.
Dickerson averaged 11.4 points per game in district play and Dillon finished with 8.8 points per contest.
This season, Franklinton reached the playoffs as the 31st-seeded team, but lost to state semifinalist DeRidder in the opening round, 41-28.
Salmen’s Ashanti Eden is the district’s Most Valuable Player.
She is joined on the first team by teammates Arianna Cooks and Jalen Huderson.
Salmen went to the postseason as the ninth-seeded team. The Lady Spartans were the state runner-up after falling to third-seeded A.J. Ellender, 65-49.
Loranger’s first-team players are Desrael Schnyder, Jamya Mingo-Young, Sydney Rivers and Sydney Starkey.
Loranger reached the playoffs as the top-seeded team, but lost in the quarterfinals to Salmen, 60-53.
Lakeshore and St. Scholastica Academy had one player each on the first team.
Lakeshore’s player is Jasmine Thomas while SSA’s first-team player is Claire Smith.
St. Scholastica reached the regional round of the Division II postseason, but lost to quarterfinalist E.D. White, the fifth-seeded team, 64-40.
The rest of the honorable-mention all-district players are Pearl River’s Jayla Tillison and Jordan Ingram, SSA’s Victoria Penn and Grace Luscher, Loranger’s Anna White, Carley James and Lindsey Ard, Lakeshore’s Paige Hulin and Skyler Rogowiski and Salmen’s Allie Batiste and Jayla Faciane.
