Franklinton girls defeat Salmen

Franklinton’s girls tennis team was victorious over Salmen, 3-2, while the boys struggled with an 0-3 record in Tuesday’s road match.
In singles, Gabrielle Webb defeated Martina Faciane, 6-2, 5-7, 11-9 (tiebreaker).
In doubles, Taylor Cosse/Morgan Mills were straight set winners over Julia Urbina/Amanda Jones, 6-1, 6-2.
Mackenzie Angelo/Abby Thomas also won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. They defeated Coriyuan Ballett/Wendy Toledo.
Franklinton’s other singles match was a loss by Yvone Tran to Raven Berry in three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 10-2 (tiebreaker).
Tijanae Magee/Cassidy Stewart suffered a 6-0, 6-3 loss to Wilba Berg/Destiny Dominique.
The boys lost their three matches.
Raif Branch suffered a 6-3, 6-2 setback to Nick Hursey in singles.
Joshua Gubert lost to Yves Gucinella, 7-5, 6-3.
In doubles, Aaron Ignacek/Zachary McClain lost to Daniel Howard/Zachary Hursey, 6-0, 6-3.
