Franklinton’s softball team went 0-3 in the Jewel Sumner Tournament that took place Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Demons lost the first game to the host team, 10-0, in five innings.
Franklinton had just one hit, which was by Madison LaSalle.
The Lady Demons hung in early and trailed just 3-0 through three innings, but a seven-run fourth by Jewel Sumner made it 10-0.
Five Franklinton errors led to five unearned runs for Jewel Sumner.
The Lady Demons lost both contests Saturday.
The opener was a 5-0 setback to St. Thomas Aquinas.
Anna Miley led the team with a pair of hits.
Bethany Sandifer and Stephanie Crowe tallied a hit each.
Miley got the loss, but allowed just one earned run in the complete game. She also gave up seven hits with two strikeouts and four walks.
The final game was a 10-2 loss to French Settlement.
LaSalle, Bailey Spears, Ashlyn Ard, Morgan Stafford and Miley all had one hit. LaSalle and Ard scored a run each and Miley had an RBI.
Franklinton trailed 4-1 after four inning, but French Settlement added two in the fifth. The Lady Demons scored one run in the sixth before French Settlement added four in the seventh.
