Lady Demons score 11 in 2nd inning of victory

Franklinton scored 11 runs in the second inning in a 14-2 victory over Pearl River in a District 8-4A game that lasted five innings.
The game was scoreless after the first inning, but the Lady Demons outscored the Lady Rebels, 11-1, in the second. Each team tallied once in the third and the Lady Demons added two more in the fifth before holding Pearl River scoreless for the victory.
The Lady Demons pounded out 15 hits, led by Morgan Stafford’s four hits. Stafford drove in two runs and scored twice.
Madison LaSalle, Bailey Spears, Stephanie Crowe and Caroline Branch all had two hits.
LaSalle and Spears drove in a run and scored a run each. Crowe tallied an RBI and two runs scored. Branch doubled, posted four RBIs and scored a run.
Ashlyn Ard, Anna Miley and Alaina Fussell had one hit each. Ard posted a run batted in and two runs scored. Miley drove in a run. Fussell doubled and drove in two.
Laynea Stafford and Sydney Wills scored two runs each while Bethany Sandifer scored a run.
Winning pitcher Miley allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and five walks over five innings of work.
