Pine goes 3-0 in Higgins Tourney

Pine’s Raiders tallied double-digit run totals in every game of the Higgins Tournament and they won every game in the event that took place Thursday through Saturday.
The opener was a 16-7 victory over Thomas Jefferson last Thursday.
Kendall Sheridan and Ethan Knight combined for six hits and six RBIs for the Raiders.
Sheridan went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Knight hit a home run, drove in four runs and scored twice.
Rion Terrell, Harrison Jones and Tate Roach posted two hits each. Terrell doubled, drove in three and scored once. Jones tallied two runs and had a pair of RBIs. Roach doubled, drove in one and scored two runs.
Luke Fonda and Dillon Morris had a hit each.
Fonda had two RBIs and three runs scored while Morris tallied a pair of runs.
Trey Cooper drove in a run while Kaden Fersch scored a run.
Knight got the win after allowing one unearned run over two hits to go with four strikeouts and three walks over five innings of work.
Pine led 9-1 after five innings and outscored Thomas Jefferson, 7-6, in the final two innings.
The Raiders played two games on Saturday and won both.
The first one was a 25-6 victory over Fisher in five innings.
Fonda continued his strong hitting.
He again went 4-for-4 and posted six RBIs and three runs scored, as part of Pine’s 16-hit attack.
Cooper, Sheridan, Terrell and Chris Mayeaux all had two hits.
Cooper doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Sheridan doubled, drove in two and scored twice. Terrell doubled, tallied three RBIs and scored two runs. Mayeaux crossed the plate twice for Pine.
Dakota Brooks, Roach, D.J. Thomas and Jones had a hit each.
Brooks had an RBI and a run scored. Roach drove in three and scored twice. Thomas posted a run batted in. Jones scored four runs and posted two RBIs.
Fersch and Knight scored two runs each while Ian Turner and Morris posted a run each. Jarwin Jordan and Blaine Polk drove in a run and scored a run each.
Terrell was the winning pitcher.
Pine had a 7-4 lead after one innings and extended it to 12-5 through two and 15-6 after three.
The final contest was a 15-11 win over Higgins.
Knight recorded three hits in four at-bats that included a double and two RBIs.
Cooper had two hits, four RBIs and a run scored. One of Cooper’s hits was a homer.
Sheridan, Jones and Terrell all had two hits.
Sheridan doubled, had an RBI and drove in three runs. Jones and Terrell scored a run and drove in one each.
Roach, Fonda and Mayeaux tallied a hit each.
Roach scored two runs, while Fonda posted two runs and drove in a pair. Mayeaux tripled, drove in two runs and scored once.
Morris scored two runs while Brooks and Fersch scored a run each.
Jones was the winning pitcher.
The game was tied, 1-1, after three innings. Pine put up eight runs in the top of the fourth, but Higgins countered with four in the bottom of the frame to make it 9-5.
Each team scored six runs over the final three innings in the contest that featured 26 runs on 27 hits and 12 errors and 14 unearned runs.
During the tournament, Pine hit .419 (44-105) as a team.
