Franklinton falls to DeRidder in Class 4A playoffs

Franklinton’s girls basketball season came to an end Friday with a 63-37 loss to DeRidder in the opening round of the Class 4A state playoffs on the road.
Three players scored in double figures for Franklinton, including Addison Carter, Kaniya Dillon and Danaria Magee.
Carter and Dillon posted 11 points, while Magee recorded 10.
India Dickerson had four points and Hayle Davidson added one.
Franklinton had two seniors, Jada Thompson and Davidson.
The Lady Demons, the 31st-seeded team, finished the year with a 14-16 record.
Second-seeded DeRidder advanced to the regional round and played against No. 15 South Terrebonne. DeRidder won that game, 41-28, and faces No. 7 Huntington in the quarterfinals. Huntington defeated 10th-seeded Rayne, 54-46, in the regional round.
