Mt. Hermon edges Independence
Mt. Hermon School’s Trey Brumfield had a huge day, helping the Yellow Jackets to a 6-5 victory over Independence in Monday’s opener at home.
Brumfield went 4-for-4 with three triples and two runs batted in.
Colby Cutrer tallied two hits in five at bats with two RBIs and Trenton Wilson posted two hits.
Winning pitcher Dylan Clark allowed four runs, two earned, over four innings. Preston Knight picked up the save, going three innings and allowing one unearned run.

Bowling Green tops Adams County Christian School
Bowling Green School’s Buccaneers were victorious over Adams County Christian School, 7-5, in a road game that took place Monday.
Cameron Cowart reached base in three of his four plate appearances with a hit and two walks. He also drove in two runs and scored one.
Ray Magruder tallied a hit, three RBIs and a run scored.
Brandon McElveen, Nick Wager, Grady Ball, James Taylor all had one hit. Wager and Ball scored a run each while Taylor posted two.
Logan Leger drove in a run for the Bucs.
Andrew Bienvenu was the winning pitcher.

Franklinton falls to Northshore in opener
Franklinton’s Demons suffered a 4-0 loss to Northshore in the 2017 opener that took place Monday at Northshore.
Wyatt Verret and Collin Dominguez recorded two singles each.
Both players pitched. Verrett was the hard-luck losing pitcher. He went five innings and allowed four runs, one earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks. A pair of dropped flyballs led to three of the Panthers’ runs.
Dominguez pitched the sixth and struck out two of the three hitters he faced.
Jamarian Crain and Trent Varnado both had a single for the Demons.

Bowling Green falls to Adams County Christian School
Bowling Green’s Buccaneers suffered an 8-0 loss to Adams County Christian School in Thursday’s action at home.
The Buccaneers were limited to just one hit, which was by Brandon McElveen.
