Varnado wins against Covenant Christian Academy
Varnado’s Wildcats defeated Covenant Christian Academy, 61-40, in a District 8-1A contest that took place at home Saturday.
Andre Jones was Varnado’s leading scorer with 19 points, as he was one of three Wildcats to hit double figures.
Errol Varnado scored 15 points, which included a 3-pointer.
Armontee Kemp tallied 11 points in the win.
Damon Kirsh posted nine points while Gary Crumedy, Jadarrious Magee and Xavier Moses had two each and Ardarryl McGowan added one for the Wildcats.
This was Varnado’s final district game. The Wildcats finished district play at 8-2, and were runner-up in District 8-1A.

Franklinton defeats Loranger
Franklinton was victorious over Loranger, 59-35, in Friday’s District 8-4A home game.
Three Demons tallied in double figures and they nearly had four.
Raisean Hart led the way with 14 points, which included four 3-pointers. Sam Smith and T.Y. Pope added 13 each.
Marcus Conerly put up nine points, including a 3-pointer.
Darius Dawson had five points, while Jairus Bryant and Sheldon Baham added three each. All three players hit a 3-pointer.

Varnado defeats Ecole Classique
Eleven Varnado players scored Friday night, as the Wildcats defeated Ecole Classique, 70-24, at home in District 8-1A play.
Errol Varnado posted 16 points to top the Wildcats. Varnado also hit a 3-pointer.
Andre Jones scored 14 points and Armontee Kemp put up 10.
Xavier Moses recorded nine points, while Damon Kirsh, Gary Crumedy and JoNathan Green all had four. Ardarryl McGowan totaled three and Jadarrious Magee, JaKyle Newkirk and Jacorrious Bickham added two apiece. Moses and McGowan hit a 3-pointer each.
