Franklinton’s Delatte qualifies for state

Franklinton’s Porsha Delatte has qualified for the Division I indoor state track meet.
Delatte heads to the state meet as the No. 10 seed in the 60-meter hurdles. She had to finish in the top 16 among the Division I competitors for all of the indoor meets to reach that point.
Delatte ran Saturday in the LSU High School Last Chance Qualifier Meet and finished 12th with a time of 10.08 seconds.
The event featured 50 competitors from Division I and Division II.
Delatte will be running in the state meet on Saturday, Feb. 18, at LSU. The top eight advance to the finals.
C.E. Byrd’s Kyah Loyd won Saturday’s meet in 8.83.
Loyd is the Division I top-seeded 60-meter hurdler.
Delatte also ran the 60-meter dash and finished in 8.70 seconds for 61st place in a field of 91.
Zachary’s Janie O’Connor won the event in 7.57.
In the boys competition, Rodney King ran the 60-meter hurdles in 9.41 seconds to finish 23rd out of 44 for the Demons. Catholic High’s Cam Cummings was victorious with a time of 8.05.
Franklinton’s Rakerian Conerly posted a time of 7.52 seconds in the 60 meters to finish 61st in a field that featured 118 runners. West Feliciana’s Kam Jackson was first at 7.11.
Franklinton’s Jaquan Anthony ran the 400 meters in 1 minute, 6 seconds and finished 96th in a field of 100. West Feliciana’s Darius Davis was the winner in 48.44 seconds.
The Demons ran the 4×200 relay in 1:40 for 32nd out of 41 teams. The runners were Kian Conerly, Rakerian Conerly, Rodney King and Rondrick King. John Curtis won the event in 1:31.
