Franklinton victorious over St. Scholastica Academy
Franklinton’s India Dickerson scored a career high 31 points, helping the Lady Demons defeat St. Scholastica Academy, 50-40, in a District 8-4A home game held Thursday.
Danaria Magee had nine points while Jalyn Bickham and Kaniya Dillon posted three each. Hayle Davidson put up two points while Jada Thompson and Miriam Tate added one each.
Franklinton is 13-14 overall this season and 4-3 in district. The Lady Demons are ranked 32nd in the unofficial Class 4A LHSAA power rankings.
The Lady Demons, who have won three in a row, are back in action with a home game Tuesday against Salmen.
Bowling Green defeats Jackson Prep
Bowling Green’s Hollie Waskom had a big night for the Lady Buccaneers in their 58-45 victory over Jackson Prep during a home game held Wednesday.
Waskom scored 25 points and hit 10 of her 14 field-goal attempts, made all four of her free throws and hit a 3-pointer. She also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out an assist.
McKinley Seal and Katelin Junkins tallied 13 points apiece. Seal was good on 5-of-8 from the floor. Seal pulled down eight boards, recorded six assists and made two steals. Junkins was good on 6-of-10 and she hit a three. Junkins had eight rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal.
Sydney Watson posted four points, five rebounds and a steal. Hallie Robertson had three points on a three along with a rebound, two assists and a steal.
Shelby McDonald had four rebounds and an assist and Peyton Stogner added a steal.
Pine tops Archbishop Hannan
Pine’s Lady Raiders defeated Archbishop Hannan, 30-26, in Tuesday’s District 10-2A road game.
Breyanna Brown led the Lady Raiders with nine points.
Bethany McGinnis posted eight while Savannah Kennedy had five. Kaylyn Ginn and Hannah Ard tallied three each and Karley Voth added two for Pine in the victory.
Pine were 13-13 this season going into last night’s game while Hannan was 12-11. Both teams entered Friday’s play with 3-2 records in district play.
Both of Pine’s losses have been to Northlake Christian School while both of Hannan’s losses were to Pine.
Pine is 23rd in the unofficial LHSAA Class 2A power rankings while Hannan is 11th in the unofficial LHSAA Division III power rankings.
Franklinton victorious over Pearl River
Franklinton had balanced scoring in a 64-11 victory over Pearl River in District 8-4A play at home Tuesday.
Four played hit double figures for the Lady Demons, led by Addison Carter and Jada Thompson, who both scored 12 points. Carter hit four 3-pointers.
Danaria Magee and Hayle Davidson posted 10 points each.
Kaniya Dillon recorded eight points while India Dickerson put up six, Jalyn Bickham totaled four and Miriam Tate added two in the victory.
The outcome put Pearl River at 5-15 overall and 0-7 in district. The Lady Rebels are 49th in the unofficial Class 4A LHSAA power rankings.
