Ben’s Ford loses to Lamar Christian School
Ben’s Ford Christian School lost to Lamar Christian School, 71-47, in a road game that took place Saturday, Jan. 14.
Kameron Underwood led the Eagles in scoring with 11 points. He also grabbed two rebounds, dished out an assist, made a steal and blocked a shot.
Cameron Byrd scored nine points, grabbed three rebounds, had two assists and made three steals.
Jeremiah Slocum had eight points, three boards and an assist, while C.J. McClelland tallied six points and nine rebounds.
Kevin Simmons put up six points, two boards, an assist and a steal, while Tucker Keating finished with five points, a pair of rebounds and a steal.
Tyler Winstead added two points, six boards, an assist and a blocked shot. Seth Schilling grabbed two boards and passed for an assist, Gage Tervalon had an assist and Jarrett Williams added a rebound.

Bogalusa and Independence go down to the wire
Bogalusa recorded a 74-73 victory over Independence at home Friday, Jan. 13.
The game went down to the wire, as Independence missed a last second shot, and the Lumberjacks hung on for the win.
Tramarcus Levi led the Lumberjacks with 24 points. He hit one 3-pointer.
Thomas Turner, B.J. Mingo and Laster Hills were also in double figures.
Turner scored 17 points while Mingo and Hills had 15 each. Hills hit two 3-pointers, while Turner and Mingo knocked down one each.
Kim McGowan scored three points on a 3-pointer, and Jaylen Brickmore added two points in the victory.

Franklinton wins a thriller
T.Y. Pope hit a game-winning layup with five seconds left, propelling the Demons to a 53-51 victory over Warren Easton on the road Friday, Jan. 13.
Pope led the Demons with 19 points.
Raisean Hart scored 11 points and Darius Dawson put up 10 for Franklinton.

Mt. Hermon defeats Pine
Mt. Hermon’s Device Taylor scored 20 points, helping the Yellow Jackets to a 68-46 victory over Pine on Friday, Jan. 13 at home.
Taylor was successful on two 3-pointers for the Yellow Jackets.
Jordan Smith had 15 points while Gerald Bunch scored 12 points. Both players hit a 3-pointer.
George Smith tallied nine points while Ike Tate posted eight and Dwayne Elzey added four for Mt. Hermon.
Trey Cooper led Pine with 21 points.
Christian Warren scored 12 points and Ty Galloway had 10. Warren hit three 3-pointers and Galloway had two.

Varnado loses to Covenant Christian Academy
Varnado’s Wildcats were defeated by Covenant Christian Academy in a District 8-1A contest that took place Friday, Jan. 13 on the road.
Errol Varnado topped the Wildcats with 12 points.
Armontee Kemp posted 11 that included a 3-pointer.
James Williams recorded six points while Damon Kirsh, Ardaryl McGowan and Jadarrius Magee all had two.

GIRLS

Bowling Green falls to Adams County Christian School
Bowling Green’s Lady Buccaneers suffered a 63-57 loss to Adams County Christian Academy in a road game that took place Saturday, Jan. 14.
Hollie Waskom had a solid game, tallying a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. She hit eight of her 12 free throws. Waskom also made four steals and added two assists.
Sydney Watson posted 13 points and drained three 3-pointers. Watson also grabbed a rebound and recorded two steals.
McKinley Seal had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals, while Shelby McDonald recorded six points that included a 3-pointer, along with one rebound.
Hallie Robertson finished with five points, a rebound, three assists and two steals. She was good on 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Callie Fruge had four points, three boards and an assist while Peyton Stogner added two points on 2-of-2 from the line and a rebound.
Callie Seal also added a rebound for the Lady Buccaneers.
Bowling Green led 33-31 at halftime, but was outscored 18-5 in the third quarter and entered the final period down 49-36. The Lady Bucs won the fourth period, 19-14, but came up short in the loss.
Bowling Green struggled from the field, hitting just 30.6 percent of its shots (19-for-62).

Kayleigh Wheat posted four points and two rebounds for the Lady Eagles.
Kristen Keaton had three points while Alaina McClelland posted three points, three boards, a pair of steals and a blocked shot.
Allison Forbes scored a point, grabbed three boards, dished out an assist, made a steal and blocked a shot.
Valerie Page had three rebounds and a steal while Celeste Crowe grabbed two boards, dished out an assist and made two steals. Ayriana Culpepper had an assist while Abbie Atkins and Lamesha Holloway added a rebound each.

Varnado victorious over Covenant Christian Academy
Varnado’s Lady Cats defeated Covenant Christian Academy 34-26 in a District 8-1A contest Friday, Jan. 13.
Quierra Bickham had a solid night with 15 points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Jaden Foster tallied 11 points, six rebounds, three steals, an assist and a block.
Keosha Mingo posted five points and five boards while Jamonica Dillon added two points, four steals, an assist and a block.
Destinty Keys pulled down four boards, blocked a shot and made a steal while Zacheon Morris had a steal and two rebounds, Brittany Smith posted a steal and Tamarya Bell grabbed five boards and made a steal in the win.
